Annapurna Base Camp Trek
12-day Annapurna base camp trek will reward your effort with some of the most spectacular views.
Starting in Kathmandu, you will be eased in with a full day tour of the valley introducing you to the craft, culture and customs of Nepal before you head to Pokhara for a good night’s sleep at a lakeside hotel to set you up for the adventure ahead.
Hitting the trail at Nayapool, you will trek for an average of 6 hours a day, allowing you to acclimatise to the increasing altitudes slowly, reaching a max of 4130m. Knowledgeable guides and porters will be at your side every step of the way to help navigate you through the breathtaking Annapurna sanctuary so you can relax, enjoy the walk and get your camera ready to capture the spectacular mountain scenery – you’ll be passing 10 peaks in the space of just 6000 m.
Over the next few days you will hike past terraced farms and ricefields, beautiful mountain and riverside villages, and through rhododendron, oak and bamboo forests, staying in lodges and tea houses along the way. There are spectacular views of Mount Annapurna south, Hiun Chuli and Mount Fishtail to soak in as you press onwards and upwards to the Annapurna base camp.
Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the views here are worth taking time over and are particularly stunning at sunrise, when we take our breakfast. Luckily you have the next four days to enjoy them as you slowly make your way through the sanctuary, and back to Kathmandu.
